The screen recording was fine.
The words weren't.

How it works

  1. 1

    Export your recording

Download the MP4 from Loom, Zoom, or OBS, or the MOV from QuickTime.

  2. 2

    Upload it to Recastr

AI transcribes the narration and time-stamps every sentence.

  3. 3

    Fix the script

Rewrite the sentence you fumbled, cut the filler, correct the product name you got wrong.

  4. 4

    Download the same recording

New narration, same clicks, same cuts, delivered as an MP4.

When re-recording isn't worth it

You fumbled one sentence

The demo ran clean for six minutes and you tripped over one product name. Fix that sentence and leave the other six minutes alone.

The script changed, not the screen

Marketing rewrote the positioning after you recorded. Same flow on screen, new words over it.

Your recording setup let you down

Room echo, a laptop mic, a dog barking at minute three. Replace the whole narration with a clean voice.

Someone else recorded it

The person who captured the flow has moved on or is busy. You don't need them back to change what the recording says.

This is not a voice changer

Tools that clone or swap voices keep your words and change how they sound. Recastr changes the words. You edit the transcript, and each sentence is regenerated into the timeslot it originally occupied — so the new narration still lines up with the click it was describing. If your delivery was the problem, a voice changer helps. If what you said was the problem, this does.

Change one sentence, re-render one sentence

Recastr regenerates only the segments you edited. Correcting a single word does not cost you a full re-render of a ten-minute demo, and nothing else in the track shifts position.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with Loom exports?
Yes. Download your Loom as MP4 and upload it. MOV from QuickTime, and MKV or AVI from a desktop recorder, work the same way.
Do I need a video editor?
No. Recastr puts the new audio back into your recording and gives you a finished MP4. There is no timeline to open and no audio track to line up by hand.
Can I fix just one word?
Yes, and it is the fastest thing Recastr does. Edit that word in the transcript and only its sentence is regenerated — the rest of the narration is untouched.
Can I cut the um's and the filler?
Yes. The transcript is fully editable text, so delete the filler and generate. Because each sentence keeps its original slot, removing words does not drag the rest of the narration out of position.
What if two people were talking?
When more than one speaker is detected, the transcript is split by speaker and you can assign a different voice to each. Handy for recorded calls and two-person walkthroughs.
How long can the recording be?
Up to 30 minutes per recording. Longer demos can be split into sections and rejoined afterwards.
What if I already have the script as a subtitle file?
Then you can skip transcription — the SRT-to-audio workflow turns an SRT or VTT file straight into timed audio.
